Ride the Wind in Cape Hatteras, NC
If you’re a wind enthusiast, there’s no better place to visit than Cape Hatteras. This remote barrier island is world-famous for its epic conditions, offering something for every style and level of rider. Legendary spots like Kite Point, Canadian Hole, and the Lighthouse draw wind lovers from across the globe—come experience why.
Why the Outer Banks Are Unique
What makes Hatteras so special is the island’s narrow shape—just 100 yards wide in places—putting the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the Pamlico Sound on the other. The sound offers miles of shallow water, making it one of the best places anywhere to learn wind sports.
Factor in the island’s “L” shape, along with its offshore sandbars and small islands, and you’ll discover an incredible variety of riding conditions: perfectly flat-water “slicks” for freestyle, side-off sessions when the wind is right, and endless options no matter the direction. It’s truly a wind lover’s dream—every session is unforgettable.
