Kayaking at OceanAir Sports
Located directly on the Pamlico Sound, OceanAir is the place to be if you want to kayak. Kayaking is a great sport for all ages and experience levels. The warm, shallow waters of the Pamlico make kayaking a very enjoyable and safe experience.
At OceanAir, kayaking is as simple as walking down to the water and hopping aboard- our staff will do all the heavy lifting and ensure you have the information and equipment you need for an amazing paddle. We offer singe and double kayaks; these sit-on-top models are extremely user friendly and are designed to ensure you have a successful paddling experience.
If you are seeking solitude and immersion in the salt marsh habitat of the Outer Banks, head North out of our creek and paddle for miles along the uninterrupted coast line. Stop for a rest at any number of secluded beaches or if you are feeling adventurous, there is a cool old-growth oak tree forest and historic graveyard you can explore.
You also have the option of turning left out of our creek and heading South. Along with some pretty neat beaches, you can paddle back into the creeks and canals that weave in and out of the town of Avon, or circumnavigate "Big Island" if you are looking for a destination to make your trip complete.
